The Middle East has seen unprecedented economic
revival over the past few years, and this has been particularly
true within the UAE. With this in mind, NSCC has laid down the
groundwork for expansion by using its local and regional experience
in general foundation and marine work as a base for establishing
a core engineering department responsible for estimation and delivery
of large complex infrastructure and civil engineering contracts.
NSCC currently
offers our clients several project delivery methods, incorporating
the turnkey design and build and/or the traditional construction
type of contract.
Our larger type
contracts include, but are not limited to, the design and construction
of quay walls (marine), civil and ground engineering works for
sewage treatment plants, tunnels and deep excavations. Turnkey
solutions for basement construction are offered too.
The
quay wall and the marine works package involves the design
and construction of approximately 4.6 kilometers of Reinforced
Concrete Diaphragm wall and other associated facilities
along with excavation to -4.0 m DMD between the walls
to create the inland channel. The project also consisted
of marine and rock revetment works, in-situ and precast
concrete works with mechanical and electrical works. NSCC-
SBF JV won the contract by providing the most economical
alternative design proposal.
THE
PALM, JUMEIRAH - SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT DUBAI, UAE
This
project was secured by NSCC-SBF JV as a Variation Order to Contract
No JAP006/C94. It entailed construction of a circular concrete
cantilevered diaphragm wall to accommodate a sewage treatment
plant (by others), along with dewatering, excavation to formation
level, and installation of anchor piles to support the structural
uplift forces encountered during construction.
Circular Cofferdam Diameter: 76.2 m
Diaphragm Wall Thickness: 1.0 m
Diaphragm Wall Depth: 24.0 m
Maximum Excavation Depth: 16.0 m
Tension Piles: 73 Nos.
Diameter: 900 mm

Formation of a hydrolift basin constructed of Diaphragm Wall
(800m) and reinforced concrete walls.
A piled reinforced concrete platform (550 piles), approximately
130m x 70m, designed to support the loads from vessels under
repair and sections of new ships during launching.
